The History of Trellising Plants and Cannabis
References of trellising date back to Ancient Roman times. Trellising made its resurgence in Europe, which coincided with the rise of Espalier;
(the ancient agricultural practice of controlling woody plant growth for production) during the Renaissance Period; 14th to 17th century.
Espalier would later inspire the technique known as LST; Low Stress Training.
Legendary French landscape architect Andre Le Notre designed the gardens at the palace of Versailles, and he created his vision for his gardens using trellises.
