The Roles of Phosphorus and Potassium in Your Cannabis Grow
Here we will break down two important minerals that you’ll be using within your cannabis grow: phosphorus and potassium.
What is Phosphorus?
▪︎Phosphorus (P) is utilized by the plant throughout the entire growth cycle, essential for carbohydrate utilization.
▪︎Phosphorus (P) is key to the process of photosynthesis, development of plant sugar and starches thus creating plant energy.
▪︎After the induction of flowering, the plant starts to stretch and redirect the energy and uptake of Phosphorus (P) towards root development and to the flowering sites.
What is Potassium?
▪︎Potassium (K) is also key to photosynthesis and building of carbohydrates.
▪︎Potassium creates proteins and amino acids as well as being responsible for multiple metabolic processes.
▪︎Plants without any Potassium deficiencies have increased consistency and strength making them more resistant to weather and insects. Builds strength and resistance in the overall root system.
▪︎Potassium is also responsible for increased weight, density and volume of your flowers.
